Mandate of Registrar College of Arms
The College of Arms section is under the Registrar General Department and derives its mandate from the College of Arms Act, Cap 98, Laws of Kenya. The mandate of the section is to register and grant Coat of Arms, register foreign Coat of Arms and register other armorial bearings including but not limited to flags, crests, seals, emblems, badges, uniforms, ceremonial gowns and Mace.

Registration of Coat of Arms
Applicant must submit the application together with the proposed Coat of Arms design and the Blazon.
Registration of Foreign Coat of Arms
Applicant must submit the application together with certified copy of Grant of Arms duly granted by a proper Authority.
To emblazon is to decorate something or to depict an armorial bearing in graphic form.
Applicants who wish to use any National symbols protected under the National Flags, emblems and names Act Cap 99 laws of Kenya in their designs needs to seek written authorization from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government to have the national symbol in their design.
